The average pencil writes about 45,000 words in its lifetime. This pencil by graphic designer and maker Adam Spratley wants to prove it to you. Made from recycled shipping pallets, this pencil shows you approximately how many words you’ve written the more you use and sharpen it. The card wrapper pictured is also made of recycled paper, and the entire package can be recycled very easily.
